According to a Member’s medical history and the Rules of Nammed, a member can be subject to exclusions concerning a pre-existing specific illness or condition. This means no benefit will be paid for any expenses directly or indirectly related to this illness or condition. Consequently, any medical expenses arising from the pre-existing condition will be the Member’s sole responsibility.
For example, a new member will not be subject to a waiting period if they have been a member of another registered Namibian Medical Aid Fund for at least two years and joined Nammed within three months of resigning from that fund. They are moving from another registered Namibian Fund to Nammed.
