Sanlam Reality Pet Accident Benefit Terms and Conditions

  Pet Accident Benefit is available to all genuine Fedhealth Medical Scheme members on Reality Access. The benefit covers up to R5,000 per membership year per Fedhealth Medical Scheme member household, regardless of the number of dogs or cats in the household, and is provided for accidental injuries caused by at least one of the following:  

• ☑️ A mishap involving a motor vehicle
• ☑️ Electrocution or burns
• ☑️ A drop from a great height
• ☑️ An animal’s behavior
• ☑️ Ingestion of a foreign object that must be removed via surgery or endoscopy

  If your pet sustains an accidental injury while you are a paying member of the Fedhealth Medical Scheme, Sanlam Reality will cover the full cost of treatment (provided by a registered Vet), less an R500 excess per accidental injury claim.  Furthermore, each Fedhealth Medical Scheme member household is covered up to a maximum of R5,000 (incl. VAT) per year.   The following situations are excluded from cover under the Reality Access pet accidental benefit:  

• ✅ Voluntary euthanasia, disposal, burial, or cremation of a deceased pet.
• ✅ Malicious acts, deliberate injury, or gross negligence caused by the pet owner or anyone living with them.
